Data Architect

About the role

Slalom is seeking a Data Architect to join its Data Architecture & Engineering team. You will collaborate with clients to design and implement modern, cloud‑based data platforms that enable decision‑making, AI, and digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Assess current‑state client environments and design scalable, future‑state data architectures.
• Remain hands‑on with data engineering, building and coding data pipelines and platforms.
• Guide technical direction while actively participating in day‑to‑day engineering work.
• Collaborate with clients to translate business needs into effective data solutions.
• Lead solution design and technical discovery, including pre‑sales or proposal support when required.
• Build solutions on cloud data platforms using AWS, Azure, GCP, data warehousing, and distributed processing frameworks.
• Apply AI‑accelerated data engineering approaches, leveraging generative or AI‑enabled tools.
• Adapt to project needs, starting in an engineering capacity and evolving to deeper architectural ownership.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on data engineering experience with production‑grade solutions.
• Demonstrated expertise in data architecture, including assessment, design, and implementation of scalable platforms.
• Ability to balance architectural ownership with execution.
