Design Engineer – Monterrey

About the role

John Deere is seeking a Design Engineer to join its Enterprise Technology & Engineering Center in Monterrey, Mexico. The role will be part of the Precision Upgrades design team, focusing on electrical harness and cable design for advanced agricultural equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Create 3‑D models of electrical harnesses and cables following company design guidelines and standards.
• Develop electrical schematics and topology plans in accordance with internal and external standards.
• Define network communication specifications and strategies for various EPDP programs.
• Verify interfaces and interference checks with cross‑functional teams such as PV&V, Supply Management, Manufacturing, Quality and Production.
• Make critical decisions on flexible component design and basic electrical engineering across multiple programs.
• Coordinate with harness suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Provide guidance and feedback to contract engineers and external design partners.
• Participate in chassis, engine and other system decisions when they affect component routing.

Required profile

• Experience in product design, preferably in the agricultural or heavy‑equipment sector.
• Proficiency with CAD software for 3‑D modeling.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Fundamental knowledge of electrical circuits.
