Director of Investment Operations

About the role

Carbon Real Estate Investments is seeking a Director of Investment Operations to design and run the operational engine that will scale its real‑estate portfolio to over 10,000 families. This full‑time, remote position reports to the Integrator and works closely with the CEO, CIO and Board.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end investment operations system across Acquisitions, Asset Management and Investor Relations.
• Run the Investments L10 meeting, sit in the PM Ops meeting and ensure cadence, data quality and deliverables are on schedule.
• Prepare and quality‑control Investment Committee pre‑reads, weekly scorecards, monthly reports, quarterly LP packages and annual budgets.
• Develop, document and enforce SOPs that scale the function from ~3,000 to 10,000+ units across direct, co‑GP and third‑party structures.
• Hold internal teams and external partners (lenders, administrators, attorneys, brokers) accountable to timelines and quality standards.
• Report operational performance to the Integrator (solid line) and provide strategic input to the CIO (dotted line).

Required profile

• Proven experience in underwriting, risk assessment and portfolio analysis within real‑estate investment.
• Strong background in building and managing standard operating procedures.
• Ability to interact confidently with investors and senior stakeholders.
• Conversational English proficiency.
• Demonstrated capacity to lead cross‑functional teams and enforce accountability.
