Expense Audit Accountant

About the role

The Expense Audit Accountant ensures that employee expense reports and corporate card transactions are accurate, compliant, and processed in line with Flowserve’s Travel & Expense policy and applicable regulations. Working as an individual contributor, you will support month‑end close activities, maintain financial integrity, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve exceptions promptly.

Key responsibilities

• Validate all T&E and P‑card expense reports for reimbursement eligibility according to Flowserve policy.
• Communicate policy exceptions clearly and timely to affected employees.
• Identify and correct data inconsistencies or escalate issues as needed.
• Handle complex employee travel and expense inquiries within Service Level Agreements.
• Support month‑end close processes and ensure accurate ledger account coding.
• Review payment runs for data accuracy and compliance.
• Train and mentor team members on expense procedures.
• Maintain compliance with Flowserve policies, US GAAP, SOX, and local statutory regulations.
• Create and update desktop procedure documentation and participate in improvement projects.
• Report daily tasks, issues, and priorities to the supervisor.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in accounting or audit, preferably within a multinational environment.
• Completed or ongoing studies in Economics, Finance or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail.

Required skills

• Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) compliance.
• Familiarity with corporate expense policies and travel‑card processes.
