Financial Controller – Remote Full‑Time Contractor

About the role

We are seeking a highly organized Financial Controller to serve as the operational backbone of our finance function. This remote, full‑time contractor position will oversee multi‑entity financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and audit readiness across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead weekly and monthly close processes for multiple entities.
• Maintain fully reconciled financial statements with zero uncategorized balances.
• Manage accounts payable workflows, vendor payments, and related documentation (W‑9/1099).
• Monitor cash flow, account balances, and tax reserve schedules.
• Oversee payroll processing and reconciliation using Deel.
• Keep audit‑ready financial records and data rooms organized.
• Coordinate with CPAs, legal teams, FP&A, and leadership on reporting and compliance.
• Support automation of reconciliation and reporting systems.
• Track budget‑to‑actuals and flag anomalies early.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing multi‑entity financial operations and close processes.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, AP/AR workflows, and audit readiness.
• Excellent organizational discipline and documentation management.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑moving environment.
• Proactive communication and ownership mindset.
