Government and Public Affairs Specialist

About the role

Philips is seeking a Government and Public Affairs Specialist to lead its government and industry engagement in Mexico. You will translate policy insights and stakeholder relationships into actions that build trust and support sustainable growth in health technology.

Key responsibilities

• Own and execute the Mexico Government and Public Affairs (GPA) engagement plan, aligning priorities with Business, Legal, Compliance and Communications.
• Build and maintain relationships with public‑sector stakeholders and industry bodies, supporting meetings, follow‑ups and stakeholder mapping.
• Represent Philips in trade associations and external forums, coordinating positions, tracking commitments and ensuring consistent, compliant messaging.
• Monitor and interpret legislative, regulatory and public procurement developments; deliver concise updates and practical recommendations to internal teams.
• Support issue management and sensitive topics through disciplined coordination, documentation and stakeholder engagement.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in government relations, public affairs, public policy or institutional relations in Mexico (individual contributor).
• Strong stakeholder engagement, policy/regulatory monitoring, advocacy planning and writing skills (briefs, talking points).
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations, Law, Economics, Communications or a related field.
• Ability to read and analyse complex documents, communicate clearly in meetings and writing, and travel for meetings as needed.
• High integrity, self‑directed, discreet with sensitive matters, confident representing the company and comfortable working with ambiguity.
• Fluent Spanish and professional English required; healthcare/medtech/pharma experience is a plus.
