Junior Accountant & GM Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a Junior Accountant who will also support the General Manager in a fast‑growing foreign‑investment services firm operating in Mexico’s manufacturing, import/export and bonded‑trade compliance sectors. Based in Monterrey, you will combine core accounting duties with project coordination and government liaison responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform full‑cycle bookkeeping for client companies, prepare monthly and annual tax filings, and support basic tax planning.
• Assist the General Manager in end‑to‑end foreign‑investment projects, including site research, certification preparation, and IMMEX/PROSEC liaison.
• Act as primary contact with Mexican authorities for company registration, tax filings, social security (IMSS), and housing fund (INFONAVIT) matters.
• Organise compliance documentation, track project progress and facilitate communication between domestic and overseas stakeholders.
• Serve temporarily as the client’s legal representative for company establishment and certification processes, with the role revoked once the project is operational.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment in Mexico, with knowledge of import/export customs and foreign‑trade tax compliance.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; Mexican CPA (Contador Público) preferred.
• Native or fluent Spanish and fluent spoken English.
• Strong understanding of Mexican IVA and ISR filing rules and bonded‑trade requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure, high compliance awareness and meticulous attention to detail.
