Medical Science Liaison – SMA

About the role

Biogen is seeking a Medical Science Liaison (MSL) specialized in Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) to join its Medical Affairs team in Mexico City. The MSL will act as the scientific bridge between Biogen and key medical experts, delivering unbiased, evidence‑based information to support clinical decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Engage with Key Medical Experts, healthcare professionals and academic institutions to convey the clinical and scientific narrative of Biogen’s SMA therapies.
• Provide tailored, credible scientific information aligned with customer needs and Biogen’s medical strategy.
• Build and maintain long‑term relationships, developing scientific advocates for Biogen’s neuroscience portfolio.
• Stay current on therapy advances, research, and Biogen product knowledge.
• Extract and share high‑value medical insights to shape Biogen’s clinical strategies.
• Collaborate compliantly with cross‑functional teams, especially Commercial, while preserving the non‑promotional nature of the role.
• Lead educational initiatives and leverage multichannel opportunities for customer engagement.
• Contribute to brand planning using knowledge of disease areas, competitive landscape, and customer needs.

Required profile

• Advanced scientific or clinical degree (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD).
• Passion for advancing patient care through scientific excellence and integrity.
• Proactive communicator with strong relationship‑building skills.
• Strategic thinker capable of translating insights into medical strategy.
• Commitment to compliance, ethical practice, and customer‑focused approach.
