Onsite Support Engineer (Desktop Support)

About the role

AVASO Technology is seeking an Onsite Support Engineer to provide desktop and technical support to end‑users in Quintana Roo, Mexico. The role combines on‑site assistance with remote troubleshooting, ensuring reliable IT services for internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver on‑site and remote desktop support, resolving hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, peripherals, and operating system deployments.
• Manage Active Directory user accounts, group policies, and security settings.
• Perform system audits, apply updates, and ensure security compliance.
• Provide end‑user training and create technical documentation as needed.
• Collaborate with the IT team, handle support tickets, and escalate issues following ITIL processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in desktop support or a similar role.
• Fluency in English.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST).

Required skills

• Windows OS, macOS, Linux environments.
• Active Directory, group policies, and security management.
• Remote desktop tools and troubleshooting techniques.
• Networking protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
• MS Office Suite and other productivity software.
• Hardware diagnostics, repair, and replacement.
• System imaging and deployment tools (e.g., SCCM, MDT).
• ITIL incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Cloud‑based applications: Microsoft 365, Google Workspace.
• IT security best practices and protocols.
