Senior Platform Architect

About the role

Mastercard’s Distributed Platforms team is seeking a Senior Platform Architect to define and evolve the end‑to‑end compute and storage architecture across its global data‑center portfolio. You will shape the strategic roadmap for on‑premise, CPU, GPU and AI infrastructure, ensuring a cohesive, scalable, and secure platform for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Own and evolve architectural patterns for compute, storage, and GPU/AI platforms.
• Collaborate with engineering SMEs and cross‑domain teams (networking, databases, datacenter engineering) to define strategic roadmaps.
• Define and lead the GPU and AI infrastructure strategy across compute and storage services.
• Establish, maintain, and govern architecture standards, reference designs, and best practices.
• Balance technical rigor, operational feasibility, and customer needs to influence platform direction.
• Act as the trusted architectural authority for infrastructure, platform, and product teams.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience designing large‑scale compute and storage architectures in enterprise or datacenter environments.
• Strong hands‑on knowledge of Linux, Windows, VMware, and storage platforms (file, object, block).
• Proven experience with Kubernetes, Tanzu/PCF, and modern container platforms.
• Experience designing infrastructure for GPU‑accelerated AI/ML workloads.
• Solid understanding of networking and datacenter infrastructure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for high‑quality architectural documentation.
