Software Engineer

About the role

Valeo is seeking a Software Engineer to join its global software development team. The role focuses on defining, managing and tracing software requirements for automotive embedded systems, ensuring compliance with system architecture and customer specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Review system requirements and architecture, translating them into detailed Software Requirement Specifications.
• Maintain full traceability of requirements throughout the V‑Model lifecycle.
• Collaborate with system, software and test engineers to analyse, develop and allocate requirements.
• Manage requirements baselines and assess change requests, updating specifications as needed.
• Support software architects with high‑level design documentation and ensure alignment with requirements.
• Participate in process improvement, tool selection and standards definition for requirements engineering.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of software engineering experience, preferably in the automotive domain.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and manage multiple change requests.

Required skills

• Proficiency with DOORS or similar requirements management tools.
• Good technical knowledge of embedded systems and software development.
