Sr. Associate, R&D Procurement

About the role

Alcon, the global leader in eye care, is seeking a Sr. Associate to join its R&D Procurement team in Mexico City. This hybrid position supports the procurement of ocular health, pharma and external ocular device categories, driving supplier selection, cost savings and risk mitigation for innovative R&D projects.

Key responsibilities

• Continuously identify and evaluate robust global suppliers to meet R&D project requirements, focusing on speed, quality, technical capability and competitive pricing.
• Lead the creation and maintenance of legal agreements (CDA, MSA, supply contracts) within the ICERTIS platform, coordinating with Legal, Tax, Quality and R&D teams.
• Utilize data‑analytic tools (BI, AI, SAP, Ariba) and spend analytics to uncover sourcing opportunities and support continuous improvement.
• Manage supplier onboarding, performance tracking, and risk assessments in SAP/Ariba.
• Lead cost‑savings initiatives and maintain the pool of qualified suppliers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Experience in procurement, preferably within R&D or medical device environments.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to work cross‑functionally.
