Strategic Sourcing Manager – Surface Transportation (LATAM & Caribbean)

About the role

FedEx Express is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager for Surface Transportation covering Latin America and the Caribbean. Based in Mexico City, the role operates in a hybrid model and reports to senior regional leadership. The manager will drive cost‑saving initiatives and align sourcing strategies with global objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing and category strategies within a Global Vendor Management System (VMS) across LAC.
• Lead total cost of ownership (TCO) improvement projects and ensure consistent cost‑optimization implementation.
• Oversee end‑to‑end category management, including competitive bidding, supplier evaluation, contract governance, and market analysis.
• Mentor and develop a cross‑country sourcing team, tracking performance and fostering continuous improvement.
• Present sourcing strategies, results, and initiatives to senior leadership and regional stakeholders.
• Strengthen supplier relationships and coordinate stakeholder engagement across finance, operations, legal, and talent acquisition.
• Define and execute negotiation strategies for high‑value vendor contracts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in a managerial role, preferably within global companies.
• Proven experience managing teams and driving accountability.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1/C2); Portuguese is a plus.
• Demonstrated track record of cost‑saving and profitability improvements.

Required skills
