Cloud Operations Engineer – Remote (Mexico)

About the role

Cisco is seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer to design, support, and enhance secure, scalable infrastructure across hybrid on‑premises and public‑cloud environments. The role is fully remote (Mexico) and works closely with engineering and operations teams to automate processes, resolve incidents, and deliver reliable solutions for customers and the business.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and support production infrastructure in hybrid cloud environments.
• Deploy product updates, integrations and automation based on business needs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, performing root‑cause analysis.
• Build highly available, scalable, and secure systems using automation and configuration‑management best practices.
• Manage public‑cloud services, primarily AWS compute, storage, networking, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on project planning, operational readiness, and delivery.
• Improve reliability, observability, performance, and security across cloud and on‑prem platforms.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in Cloud Operations, DevOps, SRE or related fields.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (or higher degree with fewer years of experience).
• Strong Linux systems administration background.
• Hands‑on experience with virtualization or container technologies (KVM, OpenStack, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proven experience supporting at least one public cloud platform, preferably AWS.
