Associate, Industrial & Laboratory Systems Engineering

About the role

Alcon is seeking an Associate in Industrial & Laboratory Systems Engineering to support the IT Core Connectivity team in Mexico City. This hybrid position offers hands‑on experience designing, operating, and maintaining IT and laboratory infrastructure while contributing to the company’s mission of helping people see brilliantly.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for infrastructure‑related services, ensuring compliance with internal standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to maintain service quality, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Monitor, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain data‑center, LAN, WAN, Voice & Video, and public‑cloud environments.
• Coordinate ISP maintenance schedules and manage rapid network restoration.
• Design, implement, and sustain computer networks, including LAN, WAN, wireless, and data‑center connectivity.
• Install and configure routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Conduct regular network audits, maintain documentation, and support integration with servers, storage, and applications.
• Provide technical support, diagnose hardware/software issues, and stay current with emerging technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, IT, or a related field.
• 2‑4+ years of experience monitoring and managing network infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of security, compliance, and change‑management processes.
