Entry-Level Software Engineer – Platform Engineering

About the role

Ellucian is looking for a Software Engineer I to join its Platform Engineering team. You will help build intelligent, scalable, and secure cloud capabilities that power AI‑enabled features, APIs, and modern web experiences for higher‑education institutions worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Implement AI‑assisted and automation capabilities using approved platforms, SDKs, and services under senior guidance.
• Design, develop, and maintain secure, well‑documented APIs that enable platform integrations.
• Apply best‑practice platform standards, including RESTful design, performance optimization, and secure coding.
• Contribute to web and marketplace experiences across frontend and backend components.
• Deliver user‑focused solutions with attention to usability, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, code reviews, and technical discussions to grow as an engineer.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and architecture teams to understand requirements and deliver incremental value.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Foundational experience designing or building backend services or APIs.
