Indirect Tax Accountant

About the role

Passport is looking for an Indirect Tax Accountant/Analyst to join its growing global tax function. Reporting to the Director of Indirect Tax, you will handle complex transaction data, file returns across multiple jurisdictions, and help build scalable compliance processes in a fast‑paced, fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and ad‑hoc indirect tax filing data and supporting workpapers for several jurisdictions.
• File indirect tax returns directly in tax authority portals and coordinate with external advisors when needed.
• Reconcile tax data to transaction reports, invoices, source systems and payment records, investigating discrepancies.
• Track filing calendars, payment deadlines and tax payment statuses to ensure timely compliance.
• Support tax registrations, authority notices, information requests and audit matters.
• Monitor indirect tax developments, summarize practical implications and maintain internal trackers.
• Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Customer Success and Engineering to improve tax data quality and usability.
• Assist tax‑related projects such as process improvements, market launches and product changes.
• Document repeatable processes to make the Indirect Tax function more scalable.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of experience in tax, accounting or finance, preferably with indirect tax exposure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Economics or a related field.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadline‑driven, accuracy‑sensitive work.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting and manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including handling large and imperfect data sets.
• Familiarity with AI platforms.
