Procurement Buyer (Plant Operations)

About the role

The Procurement Buyer will support the plant’s production, operations and inventory needs by managing the full purchasing cycle. This role works closely with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure timely, cost‑effective acquisition of goods and services while complying with company procedures and ITAR regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare requests for quotes and proposals based on plant requirements.
• Review quotations, perform cost analyses and select the best value considering price, schedule, quality and capability.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms and lead times aligned with plant goals.
• Issue purchase orders from approved requisitions and maintain accurate order details.
• Monitor invoices, resolve holds and coordinate with stakeholders and suppliers.
• Reconcile shipping documentation with the Receiving department.
• Collaborate with Shipping, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Accounts Payable, Facilities and other teams to resolve plant issues.
• Assist in onboarding new suppliers and setting up new items.
• Ensure compliance with procurement procedures for quality and financial audits.
• Provide attentive support for overall business operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• At least 1 year of experience in procurement or supply chain (or a BS in Business, Finance, Supply Chain or Engineering).
• Bilingual Spanish/English.
• U.S. person status or Mexican National Person due to ITAR requirements.

Required skills

• Experience with Oracle, SAP or similar enterprise business systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
