Senior Buyer – Oil & Gas (Upstream & Offshore Operations)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to support upstream and offshore operations for a leading international energy company in Mexico. The role involves managing end‑to‑end procurement activities for a wide range of goods and services that keep drilling, production, maintenance and construction projects running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Execute full procurement cycles, from RFQ issuance to purchase order administration, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Lead bid evaluations, commercial negotiations and supplier selection for offshore and onshore projects.
• Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, HSE, Logistics, Maintenance and Project teams to guarantee material availability.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with local and international suppliers.
• Support sourcing initiatives focused on cost optimisation, supplier performance and continuity.
• Monitor delivery schedules, resolve procurement issues and ensure contractual, commercial and regulatory compliance.
• Participate in supplier qualification, performance reviews and procurement audits.
• Assist with CAPEX and OPEX procurement activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of procurement experience in the Oil & Gas industry, preferably supporting upstream, offshore, drilling or construction projects.
• Advanced business‑level English proficiency.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
