Settlement Negotiator

About the role

The Personal Injury Settlement Negotiator will manage and negotiate the settlement of personal injury claims before they proceed to litigation. The role demands strong communication, negotiation expertise, and a focus on delivering excellent client service.

Key responsibilities

• Review case facts, including medical records, police reports, and witness statements.
• Assess case strengths and weaknesses to devise optimal settlement strategies.
• Engage with insurance companies, opposing counsel, and other parties to reach fair settlements.
• Present evidence and arguments to justify compensation for clients.
• Handle counter‑offers and ensure settlements cover medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages.
• Obtain expert reports to substantiate claims and maximize settlement value.
• Estimate potential compensation based on injuries, damages, and liability.
• Work independently and collaboratively within the Personal Injury team.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of legal experience in personal injury.
• Experience reviewing and negotiating auto injury claims.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (editing, sorting, filtering, maintaining complex spreadsheets).
• Case Management Software.
