Buyer – Purchasing Specialist for Plastic Injection

About the role

The Buyer will manage the purchasing of plastic injection commodities for a manufacturing plant in Apodaca, coordinating both domestic and international suppliers. The role ensures timely order placement, supplier performance monitoring and accurate data handling within the SAP ERP environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage plastic injection commodities from local suppliers and coordinate purchases with international partners in Europe and Asia.
• Place purchase orders based on MRP/ERP recommendations and follow up to guarantee on‑time delivery.
• Track and report key purchasing KPIs such as past‑due orders, inventory levels, spend and supplier on‑time delivery, escalating deviations when needed.
• Execute all purchasing transactions in SAP ERP, applying MRP logic and maintaining data accuracy.
• Develop and maintain supplier relationships, supporting supplier development initiatives when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in purchasing or supply‑chain roles within a manufacturing environment.
• Valid visa for international travel and supplier visits.
• Advanced English proficiency for communication with overseas suppliers.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP ERP purchasing modules.
• Strong understanding of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) logic.
• Experience analysing purchasing KPIs (past‑due, inventory, spend, OT‑D).
• Knowledge of plastic injection, stamping and metal‑parts manufacturing processes; familiarity with aluminum mold components is a plus.
