Controller – Automotive Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal control activities for an automotive manufacturing plant. The role partners closely with plant leadership and corporate finance to drive performance and support strategic decisions in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all accounting and financial operations for the plant/business unit.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closing in compliance with GAAP/IFRS and company policies.
• Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Monitor plant KPIs, labor costs, inventory, scrap, and production efficiencies.
• Ensure accurate standard costing, BOM analysis, inventory valuation, and cost controls.
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls, ensuring SOX, tax, and audit compliance.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and implement corrective actions.
• Partner with operations, HR, purchasing, and supply chain to improve profitability.
• Manage cash flow, capital expenditures, and financial risk assessments.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team.
• Support ERP system optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required).
• CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive finance/accounting experience in automotive manufacturing.
• Strong background in cost accounting and plant finance.
• Proven leadership and team‑management experience.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving abilities.
