Financial Controller

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Financial Controller to lead all financial, tax and compliance activities for our Mexican entity. The role is the primary liaison with the Mexican tax authority (SAT) and supports strategic business objectives through accurate reporting and efficient processes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare workpapers, calculate and file monthly VAT (IVA) and ensure CFDI compliance.
• Assist with corporate income tax (ISR) provisional filings and annual returns.
• Coordinate NFRI and foreign investment reporting requirements.
• Submit electronic accounting (Contabilidad Electrónica) to SAT and oversee external accounting firm for timely filings.
• Serve as the main point of contact with SAT for audits, inquiries and information requests.
• Maintain relationships with external tax advisors and stay updated on Mexican tax law changes.
• Provide accounting and tax support for customs and duty matters.
• Manage two direct reports, oversee accounts receivable, cash application and collections.
• Handle Complementos de Pago, monitor outstanding receivables and prepare weekly aging reports.
• Maintain the books of the Mexico legal entity, ensure statutory reporting compliance and own the Mexico P&L.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of experience in a similar finance role with strong focus on VAT/Tax compliance and accounts receivable.
• Hands‑on experience with Mexican reporting requirements and SAT interactions.
• Proven ability to lead a small team and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
