IT Project Management Internship – Ford Champs Program

About the role

The Ford Champs Program offers a 12‑month, hands‑on internship for students interested in IT project management. You will work on real‑world projects, collaborating with senior leaders and cross‑functional teams across Ford of Mexico.

Key responsibilities

• Drive end‑to‑end IT projects from scope definition to closure, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Define project scope, build schedules using Agile or Waterfall methods, and manage change control.
• Proactively identify and mitigate project risks.
• Oversee budget planning, review supplier quotes, track requisitions and invoices, and manage project financials.
• Coordinate stakeholders through regular status reporting.
• Maintain project tracking tools such as Jira, MS Project, and Excel.

Required profile

• Active student in the last two semesters of a Project Management or related degree.
• 90% proficiency in English (oral, reading, writing, listening).
• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork abilities.
• Experience with project/program management, including financial tracking.
• Preferable PMI certification or knowledge of IT infrastructure project management.
