Material Planning and Procurement Specialist

About the role

As a Material Planning and Procurement Specialist at Aptiv, you will ensure that raw materials and purchased components are available on time to support production schedules in an automotive manufacturing environment. You will manage MRP execution, supplier releases, and master data accuracy within SAP while maintaining continuous communication with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Create, review, and analyze supplier releases (MRP, EDI, web portals) and defined shipping windows.
• Maintain and ensure accuracy of SAP Material Master Data, focusing on MRP‑relevant parameters such as minimum lot sizes, safety stock, safety time, in‑transit time, and pick‑up days.
• Run and monitor MRP for assigned materials, analyze daily inventories and forecasts, and adjust releases to meet inventory targets.
• Follow up daily with suppliers on delivery schedules, quantities, capacity constraints, and past‑due shipments; escalate issues and develop recovery plans.
• Coordinate with 3PL providers or carriers to manage pick‑up and delivery windows, and handle shipping documentation for returns (RMAs).
• Participate in engineering change and new program launch meetings, and communicate potential production disruptions to leadership.

Required profile

• Experience in material planning, procurement, or supply chain functions within an automotive or manufacturing setting.
• Strong knowledge of SAP material master data and MRP processes.
• Ability to analyze inventory data, forecast requirements, and make data‑driven decisions.
• Excellent communication skills for daily interaction with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal teams.
