Adv. Verification and Validation Engineer - Computer Enhanced

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Verification and Validation Engineer to design, develop and automate test cases for automotive ECUs, focusing on communication networks such as CAN and Ethernet. The role is based in our Guadalajara office and will work on projects like Vehicle Communication Gateways, Perfectly Keyless and Powernet Guardian.

Key responsibilities

• Design, code and execute test cases for next‑generation vehicle communication gateway modules.
• Define new test strategies to support connected‑vehicle platforms.
• Analyze system and software requirements and ensure compliance with automotive standards.
• Perform cybersecurity activities including fuzz testing, penetration testing and IDS validation.
• Test OTA (Over‑the‑Air) updates for various OEM vehicle architectures.
• Evaluate test results, publish release reports and document test cases in DOORS.
• Collaborate with local and global development teams for failure analysis and component evaluation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in electronics, embedded systems and automotive testing.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
• Team player with the ability to solve technical problems and quickly learn new technologies.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C and C++ programming.
• Scripting with Python and Perl.
• Knowledge of Ethernet protocols (DoIP, UDP, TCP, DHCP) and CAN/CAN‑FD.
• Experience with diagnostics and cybersecurity testing (fuzz, penetration, IDS).
• Use of test and defect management tools such as JIRA or ALM.
• Familiarity with ISTQB Foundation level, SDLC and V‑Model methodologies.
• Understanding of automotive standards ASPICE and ISO 26262.
• Hands‑on experience with electronics lab equipment (multimeter, oscilloscope, signal generator).
• Test case documentation in DOORS.
