Assistant Professor in Archival Science (Tenure‑track)

About the role

The École de bibliothéconomie et des sciences de l’information (EBSI) at the Université de Montréal invites applications for a full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor position in Archival Science. The successful candidate will join a leading French‑language information science school that offers an ALA‑accredited Master’s in Information Science.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in archival science and related information science subjects.
• Develop and supervise research projects, particularly in community archives such as artistic, Aboriginal, immigrant, LGBTQ+, minority, religious, and sports collections.
• Promote the dissemination and effective use of archival materials within academic and public contexts.
• Contribute to curriculum development and academic service at the faculty and university levels.

Required profile

• Doctoral degree in archival science, library science, information science or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following areas: community archives, archival dissemination, or archival usage.
• Strong record of scholarly research and publications.
• Ability to teach in French and/or English at the university level.
