Associate Engineer – Draft & Product Definition

About the role

Carrier is looking for an Associate Engineer to support the design and documentation of light‑commercial HVAC products. You will work closely with product engineers, manufacturing, and cross‑functional teams to create high‑quality 3D models, drawings, and technical records that enable product releases and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical product documentation for light‑commercial HVAC equipment.
• Support Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and product definition activities following established processes and design standards.
• Execute design assignments under guidance of senior engineers and technical leads.
• Review dimensions, materials, tolerances and documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain to resolve technical issues and drive product improvements.
• Contribute to quality enhancements, product updates and cost‑reduction initiatives through precise documentation.
• Maintain engineering records within the company’s documentation systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Design or a related field.
• Internship, co‑op or up to 2 years of relevant experience.
• Detail‑oriented, collaborative and motivated with a passion for mechanical design and product development.

Required skills

• 3D CAD modeling (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA or similar).
• Creation of engineering drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Technical documentation and product lifecycle management.
• Basic understanding of HVAC product design and engineering standards.
