Backend Engineer – Scalable Cloud Services

About the role

We are a fast‑scaling SaaS and digital product engineering firm looking for a Backend Engineer to design and deliver high‑throughput, low‑latency services that power real‑time data platforms and mission‑critical enterprise applications for global clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale backend services in Python, Node.js, or Go to meet high concurrency requirements.
• Architect and optimise RESTful and GraphQL APIs for seamless integration with frontend, mobile, and third‑party systems.
• Implement data modelling, ORM patterns, and query optimisation for PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Own CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) for reliable cloud deployments.
• Collaborate with DevOps and QA to implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• Refactor legacy codebases, improve system observability and enforce code quality through automated testing and peer review.

Required profile

• Proven experience building scalable backend services with Python, Node.js or Go.
• Strong knowledge of REST API and GraphQL design principles.
• Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis and query optimisation.
• Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes and CI/CD workflows.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana or Datadog.
• Preferred exposure to gRPC, Apache Kafka and cloud certifications (AWS or GCP).
