Backend Engineer - Wallets

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer focused on wallet infrastructure to join our fast‑growing decentralized finance platform. You will build secure, high‑performance backend services that enable users worldwide to interact with digital assets on the blockchain.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust backend services supporting wallet operations and digital asset transactions.
• Build and optimise micro‑services capable of handling large‑scale, real‑time transactions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional and international engineering teams to deliver backend solutions aligned with product goals.
• Implement and enforce security best practices to protect user assets and system integrity.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, improving reliability, scalability and maintainability.
• Work with databases and distributed systems to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval and synchronization.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, identifying optimisation opportunities.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging blockchain, peer‑to‑peer and backend technologies.

Required profile

• Strong professional experience with Node.js and JavaScript backend development.
• Solid understanding of microservices architecture and scalable distributed systems.
• Experience building high‑availability backend platforms.
• Familiarity with peer‑to‑peer and decentralized technologies.
• Proficiency with MySQL and MongoDB databases.
• Deep knowledge of backend security principles and secure coding practices.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills, especially in remote, international teams.
• Experience working in Agile development environments (preferred).
