Backend Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain high‑performance services and APIs for a Media & Entertainment company. The role is hybrid, based in Guadalajara, and combines hands‑on development with architectural and mentorship responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable backend services and client‑facing APIs.
• Participate in system architecture discussions and own module‑level designs.
• Write clean, maintainable, and performant code while ensuring security best practices.
• Design and optimise solutions using both relational and non‑relational databases.
• Adopt AI‑assisted development tools to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.
• Collaborate with QA to guarantee feature quality and sufficient unit‑test coverage.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct code reviews, and share knowledge.
• Champion CI/CD, containerisation, and observability/monitoring practices.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies and participate in hiring as needed.

Required profile

• 3+ years of professional experience as a software engineer.
• Strong proficiency in backend service development.
• Hands‑on experience with relational and non‑relational databases.
• Experience building distributed systems, microservices, and event‑driven architectures.
• Proven experience with AWS or other cloud platforms.
