Bid and Proposal Engineer (Substations)

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY MEXICO, S.A. DE C.V. is looking for a Bid and Proposal Engineer in Naucalpan de Juarez, Mexico. The role sits at the intersection of technology and sales: you will build technical and commercial proposals that help the company win in the market, working closely with sales teams, project managers and clients. It is a full-time, on-site position.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare technical and commercial proposals based on client specifications and sales strategy
• Take part in project kick-off meetings with the project team
• Create and review local sales support strategies aligned with global direction
• Ensure competitive proposals reflect current market conditions and the client's context
• Contribute to risk review processes in line with company policies
• Develop technical descriptions of products and electrical solutions for proposals
• Estimate costs and prepare final proposal documentation accurately
• Serve as the key technical resource during client meetings and negotiations
• Support product and solution presentations, including training-related offers
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a focus on Power Systems or Electrotechnical Engineering
• Experience in application engineering, technical sales or customer-facing technical roles
• Proven ability to work with customers in both technical and commercial environments
• Excellent communication, presentation and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Advanced English and Spanish proficiency

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of electrical power equipment, systems and solutions, including high-voltage applications
• Technical expertise in substations
