Cash Application Accountant

About the role

Flowserve is seeking a Cash Application Accountant to manage daily payment processing, match receipts to customer invoices, and support the collections team. The role ensures accurate cash application, maintains compliance with internal controls, and contributes to month‑end closing activities.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and record customer payments received through portals or collections data on a daily basis.
• Apply cash to customer accounts accurately following established Accounts Receivable procedures.
• Maintain supporting documentation to meet SOX audit and internal control requirements.
• Prepare and deliver month‑end closing reports on time.
• Provide operational guidance and act as the first escalation point for team members.
• Train and mentor new and existing staff.
• Participate in transitions, projects, process‑improvement initiatives, and audits.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in cash application, bank‑statement reconciliation, or accounts receivable.
• Strong analytical, research, and problem‑solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to build effective relationships with internal and external customers.
• Comfortable working in a changing environment and stepping out of the comfort zone.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience using ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP.
