Chief Accountant

About the role

SKF is seeking a Chief Accountant to lead its regional accounting function. The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting expertise with strategic vision and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the regional accounting team, overseeing the full accounting cycle and ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Supervise, develop, and motivate staff, delegating tasks and setting clear priorities.
• Review and validate journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Execute monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes in line with corporate deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with NIF, IFRS, internal policies, and SKF global guidelines.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports, explain variances, and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors and coordinate with Shared Services teams.
• Optimize accounting processes, strengthen internal controls, and promote best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a General Accountant.
• Experience in Shared Services environments is a plus.
• Intermediate to advanced English proficiency.
• Proven ability to supervise, develop, and motivate talent.

Required skills

• Intermediate SAP proficiency.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards (NIF, IFRS) and tax regulations (ISR, IVA, DIOT).
• Familiarity with SOX controls and internal control design.
• Experience in inventory valuation, turnover analysis, and physical counts.
• Corporate reporting and variance analysis.
