Chief Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a senior‑level Chief Accountant to lead the accounting function of Arval Competence Center, a unit of the BNP Paribas group operating in Slovakia. The role involves overseeing the full accounting agenda, ensuring compliance with local legislation, and supporting corporate reporting and tax processes.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes.
• Oversee the comprehensive accounting agenda and prepare financial statements in line with Slovak regulations.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly corporate reports for accounting and controlling departments.
• Manage tax responsibilities, including income tax, VAT, road tax and related filings.
• Ensure compliance with national accounting and tax legislation.
• Participate in the optimisation of procedures, monitor controls and propose improvements.
• Prepare work instructions, statistical reports and maintain internal controls.

Required profile

• Senior experience in accounting, tax and finance.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and effective time‑management.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Fluent English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of IFRS standards.
• Advanced Excel.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
