Commodity Buyer

About the role

The Commodity Buyer will coordinate savings projects, develop long‑term strategic sourcing solutions and manage supply risks for future development projects. This role ensures best pricing, quality and delivery performance while maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and implement cost‑saving initiatives and strategic sourcing solutions.
• Monitor supply risks, market trends and negotiate sustainable sources.
• Define and execute purchasing strategies for assigned commodities.
• Negotiate best sourcing options and maintain productive cross‑functional teamwork.
• Address supplier gaps affecting product development and manage supplier changes.
• Support other Commodity Buyers in strategy formulation and execution.
• Report on cost reduction initiatives and purchase price variance (PPV).
• Maintain accurate data in JIRA, Jaggaer and SAP systems.
• Travel up to 25 % domestically and internationally.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of purchasing experience.
• Proven negotiation, financial cost analysis and market analysis skills.
• At least 1 year of hands‑on experience reading blueprints and specifications.
• Experience with manufacturing processes such as stamping, injection molding or casting.
• Strong aptitude with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Experience managing supplier relationships and contract negotiations.
