Configuration Manager – Systems Engineering & Release Governance

About the role

The Configuration Manager ensures the integrity of product definitions throughout the system lifecycle, making engineering artifacts, baselines, releases and project evidence controlled, traceable and auditable. You translate configuration management principles into practical execution, providing visibility into project maturity and delivery readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain configuration identification, control, baseline and release governance.
• Manage change impact, configuration status accounting and verification through objective evidence.
• Integrate configuration management activities with project schedules, development milestones, sample phases and customer deliveries.
• Produce configuration management plans, item lists, baseline records, release documentation and readiness dashboards.
• Support audits, ASPICE assessments, safety or cybersecurity reviews and internal governance reviews with clear evidence.
• Define naming conventions, repository structures, baseline labels and traceability practices across engineering disciplines.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in configuration management, systems engineering, release or quality engineering within automotive, embedded or safety‑critical product development.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering, change management and project maturity governance.
• Knowledge of ASPICE, ISO 26262, ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, ISO/SAE 21434 and related engineering frameworks.
• Proven ability to create and operate configuration management plans, status reports and dashboards.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
