Construction Manager – Terminal Expansion

About the role

The Container Terminal Construction Manager will lead the planning, coordination and execution of civil and infrastructure projects at APM Terminals’ Lázaro Cárdenas expansion. This role ensures that new builds, upgrades and retirements are delivered safely, on schedule and within budget while supporting the terminal’s operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage all terminal construction activities, including new infrastructure, asset installation, facility upgrades and civil works.
• Oversee contractor performance, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, cost and schedule requirements.
• Apply engineering, marine and port construction knowledge to resolve technical issues and drive project success.
• Prepare, review and approve project plans, budgets, schedules and technical specifications.
• Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery.
• Ensure all construction activities align with corporate HSSE standards and local regulations.
• Collaborate with operations, engineering, procurement and finance teams to integrate projects into terminal business plans.
• Manage stakeholder engagement with port authorities, government agencies, consultants and contractors.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading terminal or large‑scale construction projects.
• Strong ability to manage multiple contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Solid understanding of HSSE standards and local construction regulations.
