Cost Accountant – Manufacturing (Monterrey)

About the role

We are looking for a Cost Accountant to join our finance team in Monterrey. The role will manage cost accounting, inventory control and financial analysis within a manufacturing environment, ensuring accurate cost data and supporting operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and analyze manufacturing cost accounting activities.
• Monitor production costs, inventory variances, purchase price variances, scrap and overhead expenses.
• Prepare cost reports, inventory reconciliations, variance analyses and profitability reports.
• Maintain and update standard costs for materials, labor and overhead.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of cost data in the ERP system.
• Analyze actual costs versus standards and investigate significant variances.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Support internal and external audit activities.
• Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Logistics, Warehouse and Finance teams to improve cost control.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 4–8 years of cost accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Automotive manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory control, cost allocation and variance analysis.
• Fluent Spanish and professional working proficiency in English.
• Ability to work onsite and collaborate across departments.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Plex.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
