Design Engineer – Electrical Harnesses (Garza Garcia)

About the role

John Deere is seeking a Design Engineer to join its Enterprise Technology & Engineering Center in Garza Garcia. The role focuses on creating and validating electrical harnesses and cable layouts for advanced agricultural equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D models of electrical harnesses and cables following design guidelines and standards.
• Create electrical schematics and topology plans in accordance with internal and external standards.
• Define network communication specifications and strategies.
• Make critical decisions on flexible component design and basic electrical engineering for EPDP programs.
• Collaborate with harness suppliers to ensure quality compliance.
• Provide guidance to contract engineers and external design partners.
• Participate in chassis, engine, and other subsystem routing decisions as needed.

Required profile

• Experience with product design CAD software.
• Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams such as PV&V, Supply Management, Manufacturing, Quality, and Production.
