Design Engineer I – Industrial Air Filtration

About the role

Donaldson is seeking a detail‑oriented Design Engineer I to support product development and enhancement projects within its Industrial Air Filtration division. You will create innovative dust‑collection system designs, generate detailed CAD models, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure solutions meet market needs and IAF standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and test new and existing Industrial Air Filtration products.
• Create 3D CAD assemblies and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
• Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to improve product quality.
• Conceptualize, prototype, and review designs for compliance with IAF standards.
• Gather feedback to drive cost‑effective enhancements.
• Collaborate with manufacturing plants, corporate technology, and product management.
• Prepare presentations and technical reports on project status, test results, and recommendations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience with an Associate degree.
• 3+ years of engineering experience with knowledge of filtration principles or local exhaust ventilation systems.
• 3+ years of CAD design experience, advanced SolidWorks proficiency, including sheet‑metal design.
• Strong competency with PDM software (Teamcenter preferred) and intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
