Design Engineer – SG6 – MTY

About the role

John Deere is seeking a Design Engineer to join the Enterprise Technology & Engineering Center in Garza Garcia. The role focuses on creating and validating electrical harnesses and cable systems for the SG6 program, supporting a range of functional areas across the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop 3D models of electrical harnesses and cables following design guidelines and standards.
• Create electrical schematics and topology plans in accordance with internal and external specifications.
• Define network communication specifications and strategies.
• Verify interfaces and resolve interferences to ensure design constraints are met.
• Make critical decisions on flexible component and basic electrical design for various EPDP programs.
• Coordinate with harness suppliers to maintain quality standards.
• Provide guidance to contract engineers and external design partners.
• Participate in chassis, engine, and related subsystem decisions that affect component routing.

Required profile

• Experience in product design engineering.
• Proficiency with CAD software for 3D modeling.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
