Design Release Engineer – Seat System (Frame Structure)

About the role

The Design Release Engineer will lead the engineering, design, development, validation and production release of seat system components. You will own the end‑to‑end delivery of your assigned parts, ensuring they meet vehicle functional objectives and cost, weight and quality targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and validate seat structures and mechanisms, including packaging and integration with interior systems.
• Create and execute Design Verification Plans & Reports (DVPR) and manage change control.
• Maintain Bill of Materials and CAD models in Teamcenter.
• Support prototype and production builds, troubleshoot issues and drive root‑cause analysis.
• Lead weight‑reduction, cost‑reduction and efficiency improvement initiatives.
• Communicate technical status to management and support assembly plants and service teams on warranty issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited or equivalent).
• 4+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Intermediate to advanced experience in seat structure/mechanism design and interior system integration.
• Experience with OEM or supplier design and release processes.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and present solutions to senior management.
