District Operations Manager – Retail

About the role

The District Operations Manager is responsible for driving operational excellence across a group of Timberland retail stores. This role works closely with Store Managers and cross‑functional teams to ensure consistent execution of standards, inventory management, merchandising, compliance, customer experience, and financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of Timberland operational policies, procedures, and best practices across all stores in the district.
• Conduct regular store visits and operational audits to identify improvement opportunities and ensure compliance.
• Partner with Store Managers to improve operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability.
• Oversee inventory accuracy, stock management, cycle counts, and physical inventories.
• Analyze inventory trends and collaborate with planning and merchandising to optimize product availability.
• Support district leadership in achieving sales, profitability, and expense targets.
• Monitor operational expenses, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and ensure proper controls.
• Coach and develop Store Managers and operational leaders, facilitating training programs related to operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in retail operations management or a similar multi‑store environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret KPIs and develop action plans.
• Excellent leadership and coaching skills to drive accountability and performance.
