Early Years Teacher

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Early Years Teacher to join our preschool team. In this role you will support the lead teacher in delivering a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children.

Key responsibilities

• Support classroom instruction by assisting the lead teacher with lesson plans, learning activities and educational games aligned with the preschool curriculum.
• Supervise children during classroom activities, playtime, meals and outdoor periods, ensuring safety and promoting positive behaviour.
• Assist with behaviour management by reinforcing classroom rules and guiding children in social and emotional skill development.
• Prepare and organise learning materials, resources and displays to facilitate hands‑on learning and creativity.
• Maintain a clean, hazard‑free environment, including sanitising toys, surfaces and equipment.
• Provide one‑on‑one or small‑group support for children needing extra assistance or emotional guidance.
• Observe children’s development and communicate observations or concerns to the lead teacher.
• Help children with daily routines such as arrivals, departures, toileting, meals and rest time, fostering independence.
• Model respectful, inclusive behaviour to encourage positive interaction among children.
• Collaborate closely with the lead teacher and other staff to ensure consistent teaching practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
• Prior experience working with young children in an educational or care setting (preferred).
• Patience, empathy and strong communication skills with children, parents and staff.
• Ability to observe developmental milestones and report observations.
• Commitment to health, safety and safeguarding standards.
