Engineering Manager

About the role

Smartly is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a full‑stack team building AI‑driven workflows for its core product. You will shape the experience of creative manipulation, editing, and intelligent automation that helps customers produce high‑performing content at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Build and lead an autonomous full‑stack development team, setting technical direction and culture.
• Coach engineers through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development planning.
• Remove obstacles, ensure high‑quality delivery, and maintain a focus on user‑centric outcomes.
• Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to define roadmap and prioritize features.
• Participate hands‑on in code reviews, pair programming, and occasional feature development.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading high‑performing engineering teams.
• Full‑software‑life‑cycle experience in multi‑team environments.
• Track record delivering large‑scale, high‑availability web applications.
• Strong understanding of agile practices and delivery trade‑offs.
• Excellent communication, empathy, and user‑focused mindset.
