About the role

The British Council is looking for a dedicated English Language Teacher to deliver high‑quality, learner‑centred English lessons. You will join a global network of educators and support the organisation’s mission to foster cultural relations and educational excellence worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging English language lessons that align with British Council Global Teaching Standards.
• Monitor learner progress, provide constructive feedback and encourage learner autonomy.
• Maintain a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes confidence and active participation.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers and academic teams to share best practices and continuously improve course delivery.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and reflect on teaching practice.

Required profile

• Qualified English language teaching credentials (e.g., CELTA, TEFL, or equivalent).
• Passion for teaching and commitment to high pedagogical standards.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in diverse, multicultural settings.
• Willingness to contribute to the British Council’s cultural and educational objectives.

Required skills

• Proficiency in contemporary ELT methodologies and approaches.
• Familiarity with British Council teaching standards and assessment frameworks.
