Executive Director – Global Trade Finance Solutions & Structured Trade Finance

About the role

BBVA is seeking a senior commercial leader to drive growth and market positioning of Global Trade Finance Solutions (GTFS) and Structured Trade Finance (STF) within its Corporate & Investment Banking division in Mexico. The role combines client‑facing activities with strategic business development to establish BBVA as a leading trade‑finance partner.

Key responsibilities

• Lead commercial promotion, origination and pipeline development for GTFS and STF across the CIB client portfolio.
• Identify, originate and close new business opportunities, building sector‑focused strategies to increase client penetration and revenue.
• Act as primary sponsor for structured trade‑finance deals, engaging CFOs, treasurers and senior executives.
• Collaborate with coverage bankers, transaction bankers and product specialists to deliver integrated solutions.
• Coordinate with STF teams in Madrid and GTFS LATAM teams in New York to execute cross‑border opportunities.
• Develop annual commercial plan, monitor performance metrics and contribute to regional business committees.
• Identify market trends and support the development of new trade‑finance capabilities.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in Trade Finance and Structured Trade Finance.
• Proven track record in business origination and commercial leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to engage senior corporate decision‑makers, including CFOs and treasurers.
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
