About the role

ShanghaiTech University’s School of Information Science and Technology is building its core founding team and invites highly qualified candidates to join as tenure‑track or tenured faculty members. The positions span a broad spectrum of information science, technology, and mathematics research areas.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead independent research programs in cutting‑edge topics such as AI, data science, computational mathematics, and theoretical computer science.
• Secure external research funding and publish results in top‑tier journals and conferences.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise graduate students, and contribute to curriculum development.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across the university and with industry partners.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of four years of post‑doctoral or equivalent research experience with a strong publication record.
• Demonstrated potential to become a leading international researcher.
• Fluency in English; overseas academic training is highly desired.
