Finance Director

About the role

The Finance Director will lead financial planning, reporting, budgeting, cash‑flow management and financial controls for a fast‑growing startup operating in Mexico. This senior position requires a highly analytical and strategic professional who can build robust financial models, evaluate performance and support funding strategies during the launch and growth phases.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and continuously refine comprehensive three‑statement financial models to support business planning and strategic decision‑making.
• Lead consumer‑lending portfolio modeling, including loan origination, repayment behavior, portfolio performance and profitability analysis.
• Design and implement management reporting frameworks, dashboards and variance analyses aligned with headquarters and investor requirements.
• Prepare annual budgets, rolling forecasts and long‑range financial plans, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
• Model and evaluate funding structures such as equity, debt facilities and alternative financing arrangements.
• Collaborate with risk‑management teams on risk‑adjusted projections and risk‑modeling initiatives.
• Develop unit‑economics models and analytical tools to assess profitability, customer‑acquisition efficiency and scalability.
• Produce presentations and financial analyses for shareholders, board members, investors and lenders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior finance roles within high‑growth or startup environments.
• Strong analytical judgment with the ability to create assumptions in data‑limited contexts.
• Excellent communication skills to present insights to senior management and external stakeholders.
